LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
The Lubbock Lions Club held their 61st Annual Pancake Festival on Saturday, and some of your favorite KCBD personalities were on hand to help serve.
The event served pancakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
Volunteers served an estimated 16 to 18,000 people. Their goal was to raise $100,000 in contributions for 30 different community organizations.
So what does it take to host the biggest all-you-can-eat benefit in Lubbock?
Here's the shopping list:
Sausage - 72,000 links
Plates - 35,000
Pancake Mix - 5,625 pounds
Pancake Syrup - 38,800 ounces
Orange Juice - 19,250 servings
Margarine - 16,416 ounces
Milk - 14,100 cartons
Bubble Gum - 3,850 pieces
Some of the organizations that benefited from the $97,777.87 they raised last year include: the Adult Eyeglass Program, Boy Scout Troop 157, LISD Eyeglasses for Children, Children's Miracle Network, The Salvation Army, Sick Children's Clinic of Lubbock, YWCA Adaptive Aquatics Program and the Texas Lions Camp for Handicapped Children (Lubbock children attend this camp for free).
