Lady Raiders sweep season series against Texas with 69-62 victory

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Twenty years ago the 1993 Lady Raiders defeated the Texas Longhorns then went on to win 19 straight games and the National Championship. Chynna Brown and company hope their latest 69-62 victory over Texas propels them to a similar streak.

It's the first season in the Kristy Curry era that the Lady Raiders have won 9 conference games.

Chynna Brown led the way for the Lady Raiders with 16 points and helped lock up the victory against the Longhorns.

The Longhorns went on an early second half tear, but Casey Morris regained the lead and the Lady Raiders never looked back.

Chynna Brown also made history by scoring her 1,000th point with the Lady Raiders.

The Lady Raiders are now 19-7 overall and 9-5 in the Big 12.
