Officials respond to recycling bin fire at Thrifty Nickel

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Several boxes were set on fire at the Thrifty Nickel offices Sunday afternoon. Fire officials believe the blaze was intentional.

Just after 2 p.m., fire officials were called out to the Thrifty Nickel off 50th near Memphis Avenue.

The recycling bins full of newspaper were up in flames.

There was only minor damage reported to the building's exterior.

The Fire Marshal's office is speaking with witnesses...

Deputy Robert Loveless says they will continue to investigate the cause of the fire on Monday.
