Eighty-one per cent of Canadians are more health conscious than two
years ago with many of them drinking green tea
TORONTO, Feb. 19, 2013 /CNW/ - Tetley, Canada's favourite* tea, is
helping Canadians enjoy a better every day in mind, body and spirit
with its new 'Tetley Better U' campaign. Tetley has found over 81 per
cent of Canadians surveyed feel more health conscious compared to two
years ago and 27 per cent now consider themselves primarily tea
drinkers. Sixty-four per cent of Canadians surveyed drink green tea
with most of those that drink green tea (60 per cent) stating health as
their number one reason for consumption.
"There is a real tea movement happening in Canada and Tetley is excited
to be leading it," said Joyce O'Connor, Brand Manager, Tetley Canada.
"Our green teas are virtually calorie free and our new Green Tea +
lineup contains flavourful ingredients like ginseng, matcha and
hibiscus offering even more variety for health conscious Canadians."
But Tetley is not stopping at the cup. Of those surveyed, 64 per cent of
participants felt advice from a dietitian would be beneficial so tea
lovers can visit Tetley's 'Better U' Facebook campaign
(Facebook.com/Tetley.Canada) for access to expert mind, body and spirit
coaches. Here, Canadians can ask for advice anonymously, participate in
weekly challenges and read helpful blog posts to enrich their lives.
With a more intense focus on health and wellness in Canada, Tetley's
'Better U' campaign is inspiring informative conversations. Canadians
are more health conscious than ever before.
"Green tea not only tastes great but it's also good for your health,"
said Sue Mah, Registered Dietitian and one of Tetley's Better U expert
coaches. "I grew up drinking green tea. It contributes to your
recommended daily fluid intake and contains flavonoids. Equally
important is that Canadians associate green tea with warmth and
relaxation, so taking a break to enjoy a cup of it can bring a little
extra balance to a stressful or busy day."
Let green tea be the calm in your daily routine! Only 11 per cent of
Canadians surveyed describe their average day as relaxing. Life moves
fast these days but Tetley knows it's important to take time for
yourself every now and then. With the introduction of its new Green Tea
