Body Heat Could Power Pacemaker

A battery that charges itself from your own body heat. You can see the advantage if you need that battery for a lifesaving implant, like a pacemaker for example because battery power is what keeps it ticking.

Now, Biophan Technologies is developing thin batteries that essentially absorb heat from nearby body tissues then pass that heat through conductors until it is finally released into the pacemaker. The body battery is still in the design stages, but Biophan says it expects to introduce the Biotherm battery within a few years.
