For the first time in the history of Estacado High School, two of their student athletes are traveling to Austin to compete in a State wrestling competition Thursday.
Kimberly Castillo and Gabriella Aguilera are the first female wrestlers from Lubbock ISD to compete in the Girls University Interscholastic League State Wrestling Tournament.
Aguilera, a freshman at Estacado has wrestled for Hub City says she's excited for the opportunity. "This is my first time ever wrestling for a school. I wanted to go to State this year and I made it!"
The girls will be competing against other wrestlers in their same weight class. Castillo's weight class is 148 lbs. and Aguilera's is 95 lbs.
The tournament begins on Thursday.
