LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
For the most part, it was a week of winners, but we begin with bad news. One local restaurant is on our low performer list, caught storing food on top of a trash can.
Mama Josie's Kitchen at 5719 66th Street racked up six critical violations:
- salsa wasn't being kept cold enough.
- unlidded drinks were being stored in several places.
- raw bacon was stored above uncooked ham
- uncovered head of lettuce was stored in cooler without protection
- and a cardboard box with tortillas was stored onto of trash can.
- several containers of shredded cheese and beef were missing date marks.
- the washing machine wasn't working correctly.
- and several bowls and plates were cracked or chipped.
And now for the ones who came out on top this week.
Caprock Café at 3405 34th Street had a prefect score.
If something sweet is what you want, Domesticakes at 5917 66th Street is serving up a perfect score, too.
Gator's Bayou at 5217 98th Street had no violations, along with Taco Bell/TCBY at 5713 West 4th Street.
