LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Humans weren't the only ones competing today.
Nearly 100 mixed and purebred pooches took part in the American Kennel Club All Breed Dog Obedience and Rally Trials at the South Plains Fairgrounds Saturday afternoon.
Dogs demonstrated their proficiency in heeling, high jumps, broad jumps, retrieving and scent discrimination.
Ronda Clark, President South Plains Obedience Training Club said, "Obedience and rally are team sports. There are dogs working with handlers under their direction in all kinds of venues, as you can see out here today."
Pups of all different breeds came from six surrounding states to be judged at the event.
