A Slaton homeowner shot an intruder in the leg Saturday night. Authorities say the homeowner heard a noise and found an intruder, 45-year-old Jose Martin Olivares, in his living room.
Police say the homeowner told the intruder to remain still, but was alarmed when Olivares made a movement towards his wife.
Olivares was shot in the leg and taken to UMC by Aerocare, where he is receiving treatment as of Sunday night.
Three children were also in the house, but only Olivares was injured.
