Lubbock police advise drivers to avoid travel during winter storm

From Lubbock Police Department:

LPD urges all motorists to avoid travel during winter storm.

No roads within the City have been closed by LPD at this time, however, conditions are extremely hazardous throughout the City and travel should be avoided if at all possible.

Highways and overpasses are especially dangerous during freezing conditions. LPD officers are responding to numerous calls for stranded motorists and traffic collisions.

LPD is also on scene of inoperable traffic signals due to power outages.

LPD urges all citizens to remain off the roadways until conditions improve.
