TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Winter storm causes road closures

UPDATE: Lubbock Police have shut down 19th St., 4th St. near Milwaukee and South Loop 289 between University and Marsha Sharp. Police also advise to stay off the Marsha Sharp Fwy. near Quaker.

UPDATE: Hwy 84 eastbound in Sweetwater is closed near the intersection of Hwy 70.

UPDATE: US 62 has been reopened to traffic.

TxDOT has not shut down Highway 114 from Lubbock to Levelland, but officials say there is still a lot of snow packed onto the roadway and to drive cautiously.

Texas DPS and TxDOT have also closed the following roadways in the Texas panhandle:

  • Interstate 40 from New Mexico to Oklahoma
  • Interstate 27 from Amarillo to Lubbock
  • US 54 from New Mexico to Oklahoma
  • US 87/287 from Amarillo to Oklahoma state line
  • US 287 from Amarillo to Clarendon
