Davis Hines makes it official with UGA

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Growing up watching your favorite college play and dreaming to play there as well is one thing, actually signing a scholarship to do so years later is pretty rare.

Deerfield Windsor baseball center fielder Davis Hines achieved that dream after inking with the University of Georgia Tuesday. Hines was an all region and all area selection last season. He bat around .350 last year but says what the Dawgs fell in love with was his speed.

Going to Georgia has always been the goal for him and it's something that's pretty common around the Hines' household.

"Its just been a tradition in my family to be a Dawg and its been a dream of mine and all my family to have somebody go and play sports there whether it be baseball or football. I'm just really thankful and grateful that God has blessed me with the opportunity to go play there." Said Hines.

Hines was also pursued by Darton as well.
