Smyer Lady cats defeat Dallas AAA to advance to State Championship

AUSTIN, TX (KCBD) -

The Smyer Lady Cats defeated the Dallas Triple A Academy 40-36 on Thursday morning in the State Semi Final game to advance to the 1A Division 1 State Championship on Saturday.

Kennedy Farr playing in her third state tournament led the way for the Lady Cats with 21 points in 27 minutes. Jordan Locke added 17 points in 32 minutes.

Farr picked up her fourth foul early in the third quarter and had to sit the majority of the quarter. The Lady Stallions went on a 15-6 run in the third to inch closer to the Lady Cats, but were never able to get closer than 3 points.

The Lady Cats will play Martins Mill for their third State Championship in 4 years on Saturday at 8:30.
