CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina coach Chad Holbrook has seen school's success against rival Clemson up close the past four seasons as the Gamecocks" assistant coach. He says he's ready to keep the momentum going when he faces the Tigers for the first time as the man in charge.

South Carolina and Clemson start a 3-game series on Friday night. The annual baseball matchup is among the most anticipated by the schools' fans. Recently, the Gamecocks have had more to cheer about.

South Carolina has won 18 of the past 25 games against Clemson, a run that includes knocking the Tigers out of the NCAA tournament in 2010 and 2012. The series starts at Clemson, shifts to Greenville's minor league stadium Saturday before wrapping up at South Carolina on Sunday.
