Consider This...Moegle more than a Hall of Famer

Lubbock and West Texas are famous for rearing star athletes. Equally impressive are the number of very successful coaches that have called Lubbock home.

But every now and then, a coach comes along that transcends that roster of winners. One of those coaches is Bobby Moegle

Coach Moegle received a long overdue honor this month when he was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

Moegle's 40 year career brought four state championships to Monterey High School baseball. And in that time, Coach Moegle built an unprecedented 81 winning percentage.

Coach was honored alongside sports greats like NBA All-Star Shaquille O'Neal and Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees.

And Moegle is the only high school baseball coach ever inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

Consider this:

Coaches like Bobby Moegle don't come along very often. And when they do, they rarely stay in one place. Coach Moegle dedicated his career to Lubbock high school athletes and this community.

To me,  that makes him much more than a Hall of Famer. After all the wins, the state titles, the awards and accolades, Coach Moegle is a true West Texas legend.

Thank you, Coach!
