Whitharral Lady Panthers headed to State Championship

The Whitharral Lady Panthers are heading back to the Class 1A Division 2 State Championship after defeating Leakey 58-45 on Friday evening in the State Semifinal.

Taylor Moore played lights out knocking down 29 points and grabbing 7 boards.

The Lady Panthers played as a balanced team once again on Friday night. Kalicia McCoy scored 13 and Mia Ochoa scored 12.

The Lady Panthers are returning to the state final for the first time since 2011. The Lady Panthers have made the state tournament for the past three seasons.

The Lady Panthers will take on Saltillo Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.
