Severe storms expected across South Plains Friday night - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

As of 10 p.m., we're seeing showers and a few storms across the region - most activity moving northeast at 30-40 mph along with some penny-size hail and wind gusts of 50 mph earlier. A Watch is still in effect through 3 a.m. for the region.

Storms may continue to develop and intensify through early morning. The main concern is large hail and high winds. Saturday will be very windy with gusts up to 50 mph and possibly higher. Dust is likely.
