Testimony Begins In Texas School Finance Trial - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

On Tuesday Testimony began in Austin in the lawsuit over the state's "Robin Hood" school finance system. The superintendent of Austin schools testified that the share the wealth system forced Austin schools to cut hundreds of teaching jobs. Hundreds of Texas school districts, including Lubbock, are involved in the suit.

The current "Robin Hood" system caps the rates districts can tax property. Districts say that cap amounts to an unconstitutional statewide property tax.
