Cardinal Bergoglio of Buenos Aires named Pope Francis I

Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina has been elected the next pope, Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran announced Wednesday night from the balcony of St. Peter's Basilica.

Bergoglio has chosen the name Pope Francis I. He is the first non-European selected.
