Wouldn't it be nice if there were a drug we could give our kids to make them score better on tests?
Some parents are using A-D-H-D drugs for that to improve concentration, which brings a new statement from the academy of pediatrics addressing the growing trend of teens using memory enhancing drugs before tests and parents requesting A-D-H-D drugs for their children who do not have the disorder.
Neurologists say it's a misuse of medications and certainly not in the best interest of any child whose brain is still developing. They note there are alternatives to these mind-enhancing drugs, like getting more sleep, better nutrition, as well as improving study habits and exercise routines.
