LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A family is in mourning tonight after the loss of a 34-year-old Lubbock man. Christopher Garcia died in a tragic car accident Saturday night.

Police say Garcia was ejected from his car after hitting debris in the road near 19th and I-27. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Police say Garcia lost control of his Mustang and hit a guardrail, eventually coming to rest on the 19th Street exit ramp.

His passenger, 47-year-old Cynthia Garcia was taken to UMC and treated for minor injuries.

We spoke with Christopher's younger brother Joshua, who says he will always remember just how much his brother loved others.

Joshua said, "He is fun to be around... He loved to fish, he loved to barbecue, he loved his family, he loved to be around people. He couldn't stay away from anybody, he couldn't stay home long enough to tie his shoes on his couch."

A memorial fund has been set up at Wells Fargo under Christopher Lee Garcia.
