LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Congratulations to the 2013 Lubbock-Cooper FFA Tractor Technician Team for placing 2nd overall in State competition on Monday, March 11th. Students Jarrod Polk, Garrett Ritchie, and Keevan Prather competed for Lubbock-Cooper and individually placed 4th, 5th, and 12th, respectively. The team had to learn all the systems of a tractor including: Power Trains, Hydraulics, Electronics, Internal Combustion Engines and Air Conditioners. Students had to thoroughly understand five John Deere manuals and an Agricultural Mechanics textbook while demonstrating a manual tractor inspection.
