A southeast Texas city is stepping up its fight to control mosquitoes after a second person has died of the West Nile Virus. On Thursday state health officials confirmed the death of a person who lived in Vidor and became sick in July. Vidor is about a hundred miles east of Houston. A man who lived near Vidor and died in June was the state's first west Nile death of this year.
Officials in Vidor are planning to spray the city more frequently. Last year, Texas had 38 West Nile deaths and 439 human infections.
