LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Police are
investigating an early morning robbery that occurred Wednesday at Wheatley Elementary.
School officials say
an intruder threatened an employee and stole her purse as she walked toward the school's entrance at East 28th St. and MLK Blvd.
The
employee was not harmed and the robbery occurred before students arrived for
class.
The assistant
principal sent a notice to parents this morning informing them of the incident and
that the school day would go on as scheduled.
Lubbock ISD Public Information Director, Nancy Sharp issued the following statement:
"Lubbock
ISD will fully prosecute the perpetrator of this crime and seeks the assistance
of the public in providing police with any information available. "
