Texas Tech University's College of Media & Communication will hosting the 2013 Global Lens Film series for four weeks beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, March 28, April 4 and April 11.
The series is an event sponsored by The Global Film Initiative which was created to promote world films which normally get limited distribution because of poor economic conditions in their countries of origin. The goal of the initiative is shed light on cross-cultural issues world-wide through the medium of cinema.
The event will take place College of Media & Communication building at 15th and Flint in Room 083 and will feature the following:
-March 21- "The Fantastic World of Juan Orol" (Mexico, directed by Sebastian del Amo)
-March 28- "Life Kills Me" (Chile, directed by Sebastian Silva)
-April 4 "Modest Reception" (Iran, directed by Mani Haghighi)
-April 11 "The Parade" (Serbia, directed by Srdjan Dragojevic)
A panel of interdisciplinary scholars from the Texas Tech faculty will follow each screening and will encourage discussion and remarks from the audience.
