Apparently the process to hire a new men's basketball coach isn't sitting well with some current Red Raiders or a potential future one.
With the question of who the next Red Raider Basketball coach will be still looming, sources tell KCBD NewsChannel 11 that several current Red Raider players including Josh Gray are contemplating transferring if Chris Walker doesn't get the head coaching job. Gray post on Twitter Thursday night "How you going to break up a family?
That's disrespectful. I'd rather not be around that situation."
We tried contacting Chris Walker but he didn't answer our call.
Meanwhile, a potential future Red Raider, McDonald's All-American Keith Frazier put his announcement on hold today waiting to see if Coach Walker is promoted to the top job and is now reconsidering Texas A&M in the mix.
Tonight the latest candidate to emerge is Tubby Smith. 61-year-old Smith was at Minnesota the last 6 years, but despite a First Round NCAA Tournament win, was fired earlier in the week. Smith won a National Championship at Kentucky in 1988.
KCBD NewsChannel 11 will keep you up-to-date with the latest developments in the search for Tech's head basketball coach.
