Texas Tech: No agreement reached with Tubby Smith

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Reports of an agreement reached between Texas Tech and former Minnesota basketball coach Tubby Smith may have been premature.

"Texas Tech has NOT reached an agreement with Tubby Smith to be the next hoops coach," Tech Associate Athletics Director/Communications Blayne Beal said Monday afternoon. "Current reports are inaccurate."

The Associated Press cited an unnamed source Monday claiming that an agreement had already been reached.
