Report claims Auburn Football committed multiple NCAA violations

Posted: Updated:
AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

A scathing report by former Sports Illustrated and New York Times journalist Selena Roberts claims the Auburn Football Program committed multiple NCAA violations including academic fraud, recruiting violations and payments to players.

Roberts released the report on her website, roopstigo.com. The article centers around former Auburn safety Mike McNeil who is set to stand trial for armed robbery next week.

In the report, McNeil claims against the university paid players, changed grades to make players eligible for the 2010 National Championship and allotted more money than the NCAA allows for recruiting visits.

One incident says former Auburn defensive coordinator Will Muschamp gave McNeil $400 cash after practice.

Another allegation claims former wide receiver Darvin Adams was allegedly offered a cash payment to return to school for his senior season.

Other former Auburn players interviewed for the article included Mike Blanc, Antoine Carter, Darren Bates and Neiko Thorpe.

An Auburn spokesperson says they will not comment on the story.

With offenses becoming increasingly explosive, plugging the holes is more imperative than ever. It's no surprise Alabama and Florida top the list, but the rest of the rankings may surprise you.
