Police find tree saw on school campus, lockdown lifted

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Tyler Police confirm that they investigated an incident on the campus of Robert E. Lee High School Friday afternoon.

Police say that they received a report of someone driving around Loop 323 with a knife out the window of a truck. The vehicle then pulled into the parking lot of RE Lee High School, and someone reported it to police.

Police tell us they found that it was a student returning from class at Tyler Jr. College. Police searched his truck and found a tree saw, not a knife, as was initially reported.

No charges will be filed. School officials are now determining if the student violated any school policies.

The initial precautionary lockdown has been lifted.
