LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

An incident that was originally considered a hit and run is now being called an aggravated assault by Lubbock police.

Police say 19-year-old Angel Guerrero got in his car and intentionally struck Amanda Dominguez after arguing with an unnamed male who was with her.

It happened near the intersection of Mac Davis and Avenue V around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Guerrero was taken into custody, charged with aggravated assault and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

As of Monday afternoon, Dominguez is still in critical condition at UMC.
