CANYON, TX (KCBD) -

Two Lubbock residents were arrested in New Mexico after leading police on a chase from West Texas through Eastern New Mexico early Sunday morning. Police say they attempted to pull over 24-year old Christopher Sharp and his passenger, 21-year old Toni Rodriguez for speeding near Canyon.

According to police, Sharp sped away, taking police on a 100 mile long chase into New Mexico. At times, Sharp hit speeds of 120 miles per hour. Numerous agencies were involved in the pursuit including Canyon and Hereford police Departments, as well as Texas and New Mexico's Departments of Public Safety.

New Mexico DPS were finally able to stop Sharp's vehicle by using tire deflation devices in Roosevelt County, New Mexico. Sharp was charged with Aggravated Fleeing of a Law Enforcement Agency and Rodriguez was charged as an accessory. Both parties have since bonded out.
