Health experts are always encouraging long walks for good health but what happens if you are elderly walking alone and you have a medical emergency?
A new technology can be held on a necklace or anyplace easy to spot and it's giving some seniors more confidence when they walk alone. It's a simple flash drive that contains pertinent medical information, family contact numbers and an advanced directive so paramedics would know if that person wants to be resuscitated.
"It gives me peace of mind. I walk a lot and my daughter worries about me," said Joan Griffiths, who carries the emergency information on a flash drive.
Health experts warn that if you are using this technology, remember not to include personal information, such as the person's address or Social Security number.
