Lubbock ISD unveiled a new system aimed at helping parents keep up with their students' lunch money on Friday.
The system is called mySchoolBucks, and it allows parents to create an online account where they can add money to their students cafeteria account with a credit or debit card at no charge to the user.
Stacy Hurst is a parent at LISD, and she says she's excited because mySchoolBucks allows her to do more than just monitor her daughter's account.
"I'm also able to monitor my student's choices and make sure that she is making good choices," Hurst said. "I think that would be very beneficial for a parent that had a child with a health concern such as diabetes."
mySchoolBucks is currently activated for parents to use and can be accessed through the free LISD app for iPhone and Android phones under the "Resources" tab.
