Area students plan for the future at Science Spectrum career fair

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Area high school students took one step closer to making their dreams become reality on Sunday as the Science Spectrum hosted a Family A-Fair, an event designed to help prepare high school students for the next step after graduation.

Nine area schools took part in the college and career fair.

Science Spectrum Manager James Nesmith said, "I think for the entire family it's a good outreach program to get behind their high school student and the opportunities for a higher education. They might not be otherwise thinking it and especially if they're bringing along their middle school sibling, they might start thinking along those same lines."

The event was funded by a Twenty First Century Learning Grant.
