Two suspected burglars are in jail thanks to the work of several Lubbock residents and DPS Troopers.

Around Noon Thursday, the owners of a west Lubbock home walked in to find two men inside their house. The suspected burglars tried to get away, but the homeowners began chasing them in their own car. Along the way they were able to flag down DPS Troopers on patrol.

The chase lead to High Gate Apartments in the 5700 block of 4th Street. Residents at the complex tried to stop the suspects and threw a hammer at the back windshield of their car. One of the suspects then got out of the car and began running on foot. DPS Troopers were able to arrest both men.

Anthony Hambrick and Javier Myers are now in jail facing charges of burglary of a habitation and evading arrest.
