Tech: Record crowd anticipated for Saturday's Spring Game

LUBBOCK, Texas – The fever pitch surrounding Texas Tech Football has athletics department and university officials planning for the largest attended spring football game in school history this Saturday afternoon at Jones AT&T Stadium.

Kickoff for the 2013 Spring Game is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at Jones AT&T Stadium.  Admission is free and gates for the Select-A-Seat event will open at 10 a.m. and remain open until kickoff.  Premium seat holders have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the spring game in the East Stadium Club for $20 per ticket.

Parking

With the anticipation of record attendance on Saturday, university officials will direct fans to the following parking areas: C1 commuter lot (between City Bank Auditorium/Coliseum and Jones AT&T Stadium), Raider Park (parking garage on Marsha Sharp Freeway north of Jones AT&T Stadium) and commuter west (commuter parking lots located directly west of the United Spirit Arena).  Fans in the commuter west parking areas will be provided free round-trip bus transportation to and from Gate 1 at Jones AT&T Stadium.  Residence hall parking lots are prohibited and towing will be enforced. 

Tailgating

Tailgating is allowed in all parking lots, however, fans are encouraged to practice responsible tailgating, exercise safety and help reduce litter.

Stadium Entry

Gates 1, 5 and 6 will be open for entry to the stadium and normal game day security polices will be in effect, including bag checks.

Season Football Ticket "Select-A-Seat"

Texas Tech fans that are interested in purchasing new season football tickets, upgrading existing tickets or relocating seats are invited to attend a Select-A-Seat event on Saturday morning.  Beginning at 10 a.m., fans will enter Gate 1 (southwest corner) where they will be met by athletics department personnel and instructed on the process of selecting seats.  Once seats have been selected, fans will be given directions on where to complete their final transactions.

Autograph Session

A postgame autograph session will be held on the field following a brief cooling off period.  The autograph session will last 45 minutes and will feature student-athletes, assistant coaches and head coach Kliff Kingsbury.  Fans will be limited to one autograph item per person and photos with student-athletes and coaches will not be allowed.

Concessions

Concessions on both the east and west concourses will be available.

For The Younger Fans

An interactive Red Raider Fun Zone will be set up at Gate 2 beginning at 11 a.m. There will be inflatables and the first 500 kids will receive a special coloring poster and Raider Red mask.  

Spirit Squads

The Goin' Band From Raiderland, Tech cheer and pom, Raider Red and the Masked Rider will all take part in the festivities on Saturday.  The Masked Rider and Raider Red will be interacting with fans outside of Gate 1 prior to kickoff.

On The Air

Saturday's game will be televised live by Texas Tech TV on FOX and will be carried across the region on Fox Sports Southwest.  The Texas Tech Sports Network will begin radio coverage at 12:30 p.m. locally on KTTU 104.3 FM.
