A well-known Texas judge has died. Judge Giles Wilson Dalby passed away last Friday in Post, TX and was laid to rest Tuesday after a memorial service at the Presbyterian Church in the city.
Dalby served 34 years on the bench, making him the longest serving constitutional County Judge in the state.
During that time he received the Texas Association of Counties' Trailblazer Award which honors a lifelong public service career.
He later served on the PlainsCapital board and is also known for his work to have the Giles W. Dalby correctional facility built in the city.
