You can help those in our community battling cancer by attending the 22nd Annual Cattle Baron's Ball. Set up at the V-8 ranch began Friday afternoon. This year the event includes a performance by Marty Stuart and Riverwind, gourmet southwestern cuisine and silent auctions.
Chairman Don McBeath says attendance at the Cattle Baron's Ball grows every year and he's expecting to break a record with ticket sales, which is great news for the American Cancer Society. "This is a major fundraiser for the cancer society. The proceeds go to cancer research and to patient services. We anticipate raising over $300,000 this year," said McBeath.
If you would like to attend the event, tickets are still available. They are $150 each. Just go to the City Bank branch on Brownfield Highway around 7 p.m. Saturday August 21st. That is where buses will be departing to the event and you can buy a ticket there.
