1 killed, 3 injured in 2-car collision

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

UPDATE: Monday, DPS located and arrested Scott Folkerts and booked him into the Lubbock County Jail on a charge of manslaughter.

One man is dead and three others suffered injuries in an overnight collision that happened at 82nd & Slide around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Police say Scott Folkerts, 29, was driving a 2003 Honda, traveling east on 82nd at an unsafe speed.

Folkerts lost control of the vehicle and collided with a 2009 Jeep Wrangler driven by Keely Harcrow, 25.

The collision sent both vehicles spinning until the Jeep collided with a utility pole.

Folkerts suffered serious injuries while his passenger, 36-year-old Drew Baize, died at the scene.

Both people in the Jeep - Harcrow and her passenger, 24-year-old Ashley Pendergast, suffered moderate injuries. They were taken to UMC, treated and released on Saturday.

A spokesman for UMC says Folkerts was in the hospital with serious injuries Sunday afternoon.
