Overnight, winds shifted to the north, bringing in unseasonably cold air - a dramatic reversal from yesterday's high of 92 degrees.
This morning windy, patchy blowing dust, and much colder. There is a slight chance of very light wintry showers, but I do not expect any measurable precipitation. This afternoon winds will decrease, but it will be very chilly. My forecast high for today is typical of a late-April morning low temperature.
Tonight will be very cold with freezing temperatures.
By morning another late-season hard freeze is possible in and near Lubbock, and is likely for areas west and north of Lubbock. Wednesday afternoon will be cool, though otherwise mild.
Thursday will be much warmer and Thursday evening and night will bring a slight chance of thunderstorms to our KCBD viewing area.
