It has released what it calls a Risky Meat Report. The non-profit says in a 12-year study, it has analyzed 33,000 cases of food-borne illness in US food products.

CSPI's Risky Meat Report looks deeply into the meat and poultry types that are linked to food-borne illness outbreaks and captures which meats are most likely to cause not just illness but severe illness.

You might be surprised what scored the lowest risk of food borne illness, chicken nuggets, ham and sausage.

In the medium category, deli meat, pork, roast beef and barbecue.

And at the top of the chart, steak and turkey are described as high-risk.
