The American Cancer Society recommends a mammogram every year for women by age 40, but how often does that test come back positive when there really is no cancer?

The results are out from a 20 year study in Norway that followed 83,000 women who had regular mammograms. Turns out one in five had a false positive, and 6% of the women underwent surgery as a result of a false positive.
