Five people were taken to Lubbock hospitals following a five car accident on Woodrow Road in South Lubbock County.
It happened just before 4pm Monday afternoon, half a mile West of Lubbock-Cooper High School. According to the Department of Public Safety all five cars were traveling in the same direction when the accident occurred.
"The fifth vehicle was traveling high rate of speed. The four in front were slowing down for a school bus and turning vehicles when the back vehicle collided into the fourth and we had a domino effect," said DPS Corporal John Gonzalez.
The driver of the fourth car received the most severe injuries. She was taken by Aerocare to the hospital in critical condition. DPS has not released further information of the condition or names of any of the victims.
