Firefighters extinguish blaze at Spanish Oak Apartments

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

There were some tense moments for firefighters Wednesday night after storage units at a central Lubbock apartment complex caught fire.

The flames broke out just before 7 p.m. at Spanish Oak Apartments on the corner of East 29th Street and Juniper Avenue.

Fire crews say the flames started in one of the vacant units and quickly spread to the whole building.

Even though no one was living in the units, crews had to be extra careful because they didn't know if anything in the building was explosive.

The fire was extinguished and fortunately, no one was injured.

The fire department is still investigating the cause.
