Patients with primary pulmonary hypertension, or PPH, suffer from a rare condition that can lead to the need for a lung transplant. However, a recent study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology says that PPH patients treated with Viagra had greatly improved treadmill exercise ability.
The male and female patients used either Viagra or a placebo three times a day for six weeks. In treadmill tests, the length of exercise time increased 44%, considered to be a significant improvement for these patients.
