Mission Is Possible helps raise funds for local wounded veterans

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lance Norton, a local veteran of the Texas Army National Guard, stood out on local streets Sunday with the goal of raising $25,000 for wounded veterans.

Norton works for an organization called Mission Is Possible with the goal of raising funds for Texas OCS Class 56 Military Ball and Dagger Dive V. The Dagger Dive pays for 10-12 local recovering soldiers to take a scuba diving trip to Key West, FL. Norton believes this trip will help begin the healing process.

"Lubbock is a very generous and patriotic town so it makes me very proud to live here just to see the heart and the warmth that come out of people's hearts here for the military personnel," he says.

Norton stated that they raised almost $900 over the course of 3 hours advertising for their cause on the streets of Lubbock.

The organization is also having a 5K run in Dallas Saturday, May 11 as a fundraiser for the cause. For more information, visit http://www.missionispossibledallas.com/.
