Intersection at former Omni building closed and deemed unsafe

From City of Lubbock:

The City has closed the intersection of 14th Street and Avenue K because the area has been deemed unsafe. Safety concerns have become apparent due to sections of façade tile falling off a building and landing in the right of way. Windy days are of particular concern because tile pieces are especially unstable with wind gusts. The closure will last for an indeterminate length of time until the safety concerns have been resolved. To avoid property damage or injuries due to the falling debris, drivers and pedestrians are asked to avoid this intersection and comply with the traffic control plan.
