A few residents in Snyder were a little shaken up on Monday. The U.S. Geological Survey has reported that they were hit by two earthquakes.
The first, which registered at a 2.6 on the Richter Scale, occurred at around 1 p.m. on Monday, just 17 miles northeast of the city. A second, stronger quake occurred around 11 p.m. about 16 miles north of Snyder. This one registered at a 2.9. No buildings were damaged nor were any people hurt.
This is not the first time the town has been hit by earthquakes - about a dozen were reported in 2011.
