Two in custody after campground robbery

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Two people are in police custody Tuesday night, following a robbery at a local campground and RV park in northwest Lubbock.

Police have arrested Shane Lester Walton, 26, and Tracy Maureen Walton, 31, on charges of aggravated robbery.

Just before 5 p.m., officials received a call about a robbery at KOA, on the corner of Highway 84 and Kent Street. Witnesses say they saw the suspects flee the scene.

Deputies pulled a vehicle over that was similar to the one witnesses described a short time later on I-27 between 19th and 34th Street. The police reportedly discovered a handgun inside the vehicle.

The Waltons are being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center. Shane Walton is being held on a $50,000 bond and Tracy Walton is being held on a $25,000 bond.

UPDATE: Shane Walton and Tracy Walton were indicted for Aggravated Robbery on June 25.
