Suspect fires gunshots into Cactus Courtyard during concert

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock police are investigating an early Wednesday morning shooting at a Depot District venue.

Police were on the scene handling a loud music complaint when they say a suspect fired 2 gunshots into the Cactus Courtyard, just after 1:20 a.m. Investigators say one of the bullets hit a back wall and another hit the sound system. One person was slightly injured after being struck by debris that fell from the sound system but declined treatment. The bullets managed to miss a DJ who was performing just a few inches away. Police say rapper Travis Porter was on stage when the shooting happened.

Police believe the shots came from the east alley of 1700 Buddy Holly. The suspect fled the scene and has not been located. LPD has informed us that they have increased their patrol presence in the area in response to this incident.

Investigators say the suspect is a black male, 5'8 to 5'9 in height and weighs around 180 lbs. They are looking for a dark colored Chevy Tahoe with chrome wheels. If you have any information about this incident, please call Crime Line at 741-1000.
